\n\tOur neighbour \u201ctwo doors down\u201d in Markerville!Today's Bluerock vignette features the exuberant 'Dancing My Way Out' by Dirk van Wyk. Now in his 80s, this artist has made his indefatigable Dirk-ness feature as prominently in his life as well as in his art practice. What does that look like? At least in part, maybe a lifetime of not taking himself or his fascinating artwork too seriously, while also treating the process with respect and reverence. \n\tThis piece, \"No Words\", was a breakthrough piece for me. It sold last week and found a home to someone who it touched 2 years ago at an art market.

It reminds me why I need to paint, because art moves the soul! The universe attaches the art work to someone who will eventually be called to take it home.

Each painting I make is not for me but for the soul I've yet to meet or have met already.

\n\tCondolences to his family. I met Ron just 5 short years ago when we moved to Markerville. He participated in our Art Show each year, and we\u2019d waive or stop and chat in the summer months to take a break from mowing lawns! We shoveled snow together at the Hall a few times last year, and if you ran across him out for a walk you could always shoot the breeze.
