BUTTERMAKER’S HOUSE ARTIST RESIDENCY presents a DROP-IN OPEN STUDIO with Marlena Wyman!

You are invited to come to the Creamery on September 13th and see the drawings and sketches that Marlena has been creating over her artist’s residency and have a chat. For anyone who would like to put pen to paper, Marlena will be happy to show you how to create a fun “two-minute portrait sketch”. All ages and levels of experience welcome!

This "come and go" event runs from 1:30 to 3:30 pm

Marlena is an Edmonton based visual artist, raised on her parents’ and grandparents’ farm near Rockyford, Alberta. She worked at the Provincial Archives of Alberta for many years, responsible for the historic photograph, film, and sound collections. Her art practice incorporates the concepts of history, memory, and storytelling.

You can find more information about this open studio or set a reminder for yourself by visiting our events calendar at www.historicmarkerville.com/whats-new.html

Do you agree that Alberta should remain in Canada?

One of the petition signing locations will be available in Markerville on Sept 7 at the Creamery.

How the citizen initiative works
1. Volunteers register to help collect signatures following Elections Alberta rules.
2. Eligible Alberta voters sign the petition in person with their name and address as they appear on the voter list.
3. Signatures are verified and submitted to Elections Alberta.
4. If the threshold is met within the time limit, a referendum question can proceed.
